August 13th, 2014 by Pom de Turf

It’s only a relatively short trip from Hong Kong down to Australia, but there’s a world of difference between the two, even if you’re a racehorse. There are horses who take a little longer than others to settle into things here in Australia, and a few who never quite settle at all – we’re all hoping that talented Hong Kong import Dan Excel is one who can make the transition, because we’ll be looking out for him in the Racing odds for the Cox Plate in 2014…

AFL Odds: Finals Dreams Fading For Gold Coast?

August 12th, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

There were some fine margins in Round 20, but at the cutting edge of an AFL season, those fine margins can make all the difference. It was a miss that could have brightened a Freemantle day that has pundits talking about the fine line between victory and failure this week, but there have been so many over the course of the season that it’s difficult to keep track of whose luck has been good, and whose fans will look back at a 2014 season of might-have-beens. It’s not over yet, of course, and we’ve got all the Round 21 odds you’ll need for a busy weekend.

The Dockers were agonisingly close to Read the rest of this entry »

August 12th, 2014 by Pom de Turf

Jessy Belle looked very impressive, by all accounts, on her way to winning the Sportingbet Handicap at Moonee Valley at the weekend, and it’s a strong win that has her trainer’s thoughts turning towards the Melbourne Spring, and so we’re going to be keeping an eye on the Racing odds to see if she starts to appear…

That win in the Sportingbet was Read the rest of this entry »

Melbourne Spring Racing Odds: Lots Of Work To Do For Text’n Hurley

August 12th, 2014 by Pom de Turf

After a good win in March in the Group 2 Sportingbet Sunline Stakes over 1600m, there would have been plenty of optimism surrounding Text’n Hurley, and trainer Colin Little was looking forward to giving her a run in the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington via the Aurie’s Star Handicap. She’ll have to produce better, though, to please the trainer and to feature more strongly in the Racing odds as October rolls around…

August 12th, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

There’s no let-up in the ferocity of the NRL fixtures that keep coming thick and fast, especially at the top of the ladder, and there were some more results in Round 22 to confound the pundits and to keep things interesting in the top eight. That said, we’ve got all the odds for Round 23 lined up for you – and it could be the round that dashes the finals hopes of some teams, and stokes the ambitions of others…

August 12th, 2014 by Pom de Turf

Trainer Tony McEvoy has a couple of emerging talents on his hands that will be making their first inroads into Australian racing in the 2014 Spring Season, and they’ll no doubt start appearing in those Racing odds at the end of the link there – especially if they produce the sort of results that their potential suggests they can. August 9th, 2014 by Pom de Turf

Green Moon is one veteran campaigner who will most likely be making the trip to Australia for the Melbourne Spring, and most likely aiming at the Caulfield Cup, but we’re hearing news that another veteran might be sidelined in 2014, and not feature at all in the Racing odds for the Melbourne Cup as we get closer to the big day…

Melbourne Spring Racing Odds: Lucia Valentina’s Options

August 9th, 2014 by Pom de Turf

We’ve recently drawn attention to the Caulfield Cup as the most likely destination for Green Moon (see that post here), and the worthy veteran will hopefully get the chance to show his class on October 18th. But the reality is that there will be rising talent out to make his owners and trainers regret the decision to aim him at the Caulfield Cup, and one of those will likely be promising filly Lucia Valentina: check out the Racing odds for the Caulfield Cup by following the link!
