NRL: Saturday Odds For Rabbitohs, Sea Eagles
May 8th, 2014 by TJ DilferAfter a Friday night that sees the 600th first-grade rugby league fixture at the Allianz Stadium, and one that could really unsettle the top of the ladder, Saturday sees three of the teams in the top eight in action – and there are a couple of big head-to-head clashes that could definitely re-shape the ladder once the dust settles. First off, one of the NRL’s fiercest and greatest rivalries of the past decade or so: the Storm against the Sea Eagles. We’re thinking back to consecutive grand finals in 2007 and 2008 that these two contested, but there’s much more fuelling a rivalry that has produced some epic games of rugby, and could be set to do so again on Saturday. A win for the Eagles would likely see them top if the Bulldogs slip up, and it will help them keep the pressure on either way. A win for the Storm would put a rough start behind them and maybe get them up into the top eight, so for both sides there’s more than just rivalry here. The Storm are the favourites at home, and getting odds of $1.45, probably because of a laundry list of injuries that the Sea Eagles are having to work around. After their worst start to a season in years, Storm fans will think it especially sweet if they get things back on track against Manly.
Also on Saturday, the Rabbitohs and the Titans meet in a game that’s another chance for the Titans to prove that there’s nothing coincidental about their strong start to the 2014 campaign. A win over the Rabbitohs is about as good a way to do that as any, and they’re at odds of $2.85 to do that. The Rabbitohs, though, are a $1.45 bet to win what could be a very close game.
