AFL Odds: Friday And Monday Games In Round 12
June 3rd, 2014 by TJ DilferIt’s Round 12, and the AFL season is over the hump and picking up pace towards the finals: there’s no such thing as a small game anymore, just massive game after massive game that will go a good distance to deciding which teams are playing finals football and which aren’t. Obviously, there wasn’t much room for defeat in the first half of the season, but there’s none now, so make sure you’ve got all your Round 12 odds at hand as we head into a busy weekend.
It’s a weekend of AFL action that’s bracketed by Monday and Friday games that feature big clubs in the top six of the ladder. Start your weekend on Friday with a watch of Geelong and Carlton in a fixture that the Blues would dearly love to win to put them back in contention for the top eight, but that the Cats will need to win if they ‘re going to bounce back from a mauling by Sydney in Round Eleven.
There’s lots more to enjoy on Saturday and Sunday, and we’ll be taking a closer look at those games in other posts, but the round finishes on Monday night with Melbourne taking on Collingwood. The Magpies are putting together a great run of wins that has seen them into the top four, and they will be keen to keep that going against Melbourne. The Dees, though, have been much improved, and pushed ladder leaders Port Adelaide close last week. That’ll be no consolation, of course, if they can’t get the result, but they have shown some positive signs of late…
