AFL Odds: Swans Hot Favourites Over Eagles
July 3rd, 2014 by TJ DilferYou’ve got to feel for Power fans a little. It didn’t take much of a slip for their side to cough up the top spot on the ladder – there are three strong winning streaks being built by sides in the top four, and Port Adelaide suddenly look just a little off the pace after only a couple of defeats. Sunday’s AFL odds are waiting for you if you click the link, and if you do you’ll see that Sydney are favourites in their game against West Coast.
In fact, Sunday could all be about the Swans, and whether or not they can continue a run of wins that stretches all the way back to Round Five. There are a couple of other good runs in the top four, with Hawthorn and Fremantle both collecting wins, so it will be vital for Sydney that they continue to pick up points – and to build their form. We’re getting close to the time when sides will need to be both on top form and strong in depth if they want to lift silverware, and Swans fans will be liking what they’re seeing…
Elsewhere on Sunday, Carlton and St Kilda contest a match that will have consequences at the foot of the ladder, and might spare someone’s blushes when it comes to wooden spoon time. Neither of these sides has managed a win in their last five outings, so there will be one happier set of players and coaching staff by Sunday night, and the odds say it will be Carlton.
If the Cats are going to stay in the mix at the top they need to take the points from the Bulldogs at the weekend, but with odds of $1.10 their fans will be feeling confident. A loss would see the Bulldogs drop into the pack at the bottom, though, so expect them to scrap to stay clear of that.
