Racing Odds: Caulfield Cup Melbourne Spring Target For Green Moon

You would think that Green Moon will be right in the reckoning when the Racing odds are calculated, and we’ll definitely have him in mind…
It was the 2011 Caulfield Cup that saw Green Moon really make his mark on the Melbourne Spring for the first time, and he has turned in some memorable performances since. Besides that Melbourne Cup win, Green Moon is a Blamey Stakes and a Turnbull Stakes winner, and the Caulfield Cup hasn’t been part of his Melbourne Cup preparations in recent Spring Seasons, but this year, co-owner Nick Williams has revealed that it will be the Caulfield Cup that’s the target for Green Moon, though not with any sort of real enthusiasm, it seems to us: ‘he is in absolutely terrific order. We will send him around again and see where we get to with him. I suppose you have to look at races for the Caulfield Cup with him and hopefully he is good enough to get there.’
See what we mean? Not exactly world-beating talk from the owner, but it’s fair to say that Green Moon has a strong record behind him – and he could prove himself a contender again. Needless to say, he’s already a fixture of the Racing odds for both the Melbourne Cup and the Caulfield Cup…
