NRL Odds: The Finals Are Here!
September 9th, 2014 by TJ DilferA breathless end to a hard-fought and intense season NRL season has given us eight finalists – and a couple of teams who will be gutted to have missed out on the finals spots, finishing in ninth and tenth with the same points as the Broncos in eighth. There were eight points between first place and tenth place on the final ladder for the season, and it was the Roosters, in the end, who nicked in to steal the minor premiership when the Eagles failed to close the season out. The Roosters finish the regular season with a strong winning streak under them, though, and you’ll see from the NRL odds at the end of that there link that they go into the finals with the shortest odds beside their name. We have a minor premier who are going to be the side to beat in the finals – but there are seven teams in action at the weekend who will all think they can do just that when they get their chance, the season has been that close…
And Friday night sees two of the sides with the best chance going head-to-head. The Rabbitohs will be stinging from their defeat by the Roosters in the final round, and the knowledge that the minor premiership could have been theirs if they’d won that one. The Sea Eagles, too, will have some baggage coming into this one – it’s a clash of two sides who came close in the regular season, but didn’t quite make it across the line. This is the finals, though, and the regular season won’t mean much to the players when they run out on Friday night. We’re looking forward to seeing which of 2014’s bridesmaids bounces back from disappointment the better – the other will have to scrap it out in an elimination final!
