AFL: Richmond $1.20 Favourites For NAB Win Over Melbourne
February 13th, 2014 by TJ DilferRichmond and Melbourne will meet on Friday night in a NAB Challenge clash, and it looks like there will be plenty of untested talent on show, with both sides naming squads that are full of new faces for their fans to get used to.
Richmond go into Friday’s game as strong $1.20 favourites to kick off the campaign with a win, and they will hope to gather some momentum to take into the season proper – they’ve got the chance to capitalise on a decent draw in the first five games, and get a flying start to 2014. They’re a $1.53 bet to take their first game against Gold Coast on March 15th, and that could be the win they need to go into Round Six with four wins behind them. That would give them the sort of opening to their bid for the flag that Melbourne coach Paul Roos might only be dreaming about. Not only are Melbourne $4.50 outsiders in Friday’s NAB clash with Richmond, but they’re a $2.30 bet to beat St Kilda in their season opener (St. Kilda are $1.60…). It could be a rough month for Melbourne fans, but it’ll give them a taste of what the season might have in store – their side are a long, long $501.00 bet to win the flag, but a more tempting $12.00 to sneak into the top 8.
