Adelaide Getting $2.50 Odds To Upset Carlton
February 24th, 2014 by TJ DilferCarlton will field a close to full strength side in their NAB Challenge fixture against Adelaide tonight, no doubt hoping to carry the momentum from their win over North Melbourne forward through the rest of the NAB and into the first games of the regular season. There’s good news for Blues fans, too, in the return of ruckman Matthew Kreuzer to the Carlton side after injury upset the second half of his season and affected his pre-season preparation. The upshot of all the team news coming out of the two camps is that Carlton are the favourites at $1.51, and will be looking to make their on-paper advantage count, and chalk up another NAB Challenge win.
Adelaide will carry the underdogs tag into tonight’s game, then, and they will be without former Blue Eddie Betts, who would no doubt have relished the chance to turn in a great performance against his old club. Betts was excellent in Adelaide’s win over Port Adelaide, but his new clubmates will have to take up the slack if the Crows want to overturn those $2.50 odds and keep in the winning ways.
There are markets for the game on Sportsbet right now, and we like the look of a couple: either side by 16 or fewer points is a $2.65 wager and Carlton to lead both at half time and at the final whistle is at $1.98.
