AFL: All The Odds For Round Four
April 11th, 2014 by TJ DilferRound Four of the 2014 season looks like it’s packed with promise, and it all comes to a close on Sunday night, so make sure you’ve got all your AFL odds, and your Round Four odds in particular for any teams you’ve got your eye on.
Sunday’s AFL entertainment kicks off with a match between the Swans and North Melbourne, who are right next to each other on the ladder after mixed starts to their 2014 campaigns. Before a ball was kicked, there were plenty of pundits suggesting that Sydney might be premiership contenders, but they took a few weeks to get going, and their fans had to wait until last week to see a win in the ledger. That win over Adelaide, though, could have given them the momentum they need, and they go into Sunday’s game as the $1.38 favourites. The Roos, meanwhile, are busy trying to prove that they are a genuine finals team, and a win over the Swans will mean a return of three wins from their first four games, which puts them right in the mix. It might also be that Sydney are one of the sides they have to get past to reach a grand final, so they’ll feel better about that prospect if they can turn them over this weekend. North Melbourne are a $3.10 bet that we’re tempted by…
Following that are St Kilda and Adelaide, contesting what could be a good, tight game. Here are two more sides that have defied the pundits in the early exchanges of 2014. St Kilda were expected to have a hard time of things, but they’ve shown some real fight and bagged themselves a couple of wins in the first three rounds. Adelaide, meanwhile, is a club that will be really starting to feel the jitters if Sunday’s outing doesn’t turn up a win for them. The Crows are the $1.73 favourites, while you’ll get $2.15 for St Kilda to win what we’re hoping will be a close run thing.
It likely won’t be as close as Sunday’s evening fixture, though, which looks like a fantastic way to finish another weekend and another round of AFL games. The bookies can’t separate Freemantle and Essendon – which way are you calling it? Freemantle find themselves under a little bit of pressure after a big defeat to the reigning premiers, and there will be some nerves looking ahead to a game against an Essendon side who look to be hitting a rich vein of form. For their part, the Bombers are sitting in fourth place on the ladder, just behind the three sides that remain unbeaten. A win on Sunday would help them keep some pressure on at the top, and both sides are a $1.92 bet as of right now!
