AFL: All The Odds For Sunday’s Games
April 3rd, 2014 by TJ DilferSaturday looks like it will be offering up enough AFL action to satisfy even the most enthusiastic fan, but there’s even more coming on Sunday! You can check out all the odds for Round Three by simply following the link – and you’ll see that there are some interesting games at the tail end of the round that could make the ladder look quite different on Sunday night than it will on Saturday…
First up are GWS and Melbourne, and if you take a look on Sportsbet right now you’ll see that it’s GWS who the bookies are picking to grab the win: they go in as the $1.30 favourites. Expect to see Josh Kelly make a start for GWS, bringing an exciting young talent into the mix. Expect to see changes in the Melbourne ranks, too, after a difficult start to the season that sees the Dees propping up the ladder, and looking for a way to get themselves moving. They’re a $3.55 bet.
Port Adelaide are in action on Sunday afternoon, and will be looking to keep the pressure on at the top of the ladder with a win over North Melbourne to back up an impressive Showdown triumph in Round Two. They go into the game on Sunday with a pretty much unchanged side, which is always a luxury for a club, and a big bonus, too. The Power are looking good for a 2014 season that backs up the good work of the end of last year, and that 5th-place finish that seemed to come out of nowhere might be what’s expected in 2014 if they keep putting in the performances. North Melbourne, meanwhile, have got off to a slower start to the 2014 campaign, taking time to adjust to a few changes – they have the history in this fixture, though, winning the bulk of the recent encounters. Port Adelaide are the favourites at $1.73, while you’ll see odds of $2.10 for North Melbourne.
And finally to the last game of Round Three, and the centrepiece of your Sunday evening’s AFL viewing. This could be a cracker, especially if both Carlton and Essendon turn in performances! The bookies have this one as Essendon’s game to lose, and Sportsbet are offering odds of $1.48 for them as of today. Carlton aren’t having the start to the season that they would have been hoping for, to say the least: winless going into the Essendon game, the points will be important if they can bag them, but Blues fans will be sweating over the news of an injury to Matthew Kreuzer that will keep him out for months. Both these sides lost tight games in Round Two, and Essendon will be keen to win what could be another close contest: after a defeat last week they’ll want to keep the pressure on the sides above them in the ladder, and maybe even creep up from 7th, where they find themselves this week. Carlton are getting odds of $2.65 to score that first win over perennial rivals Essendon.
