AFL: Brownlow Medal Pre-Season Odds
February 5th, 2014 by TJ DilferIt might be early to start thinking about the Brownlow Medal, but there could be some great value on offer for an early bet – especially if you have a feeling you know where the Medal is going to end up! Holder Gary Ablett Jr is the odds-on favourite to win the Brownlow for the third time at $7.00, just ahead of a pack of players on $10.00, and that could be good value for him, assuming the odds will get shorter as he puts in great performances and closes in on the award.
But it could got the other way, too, and there are a few guys sitting on odds of $10.00 and more who could be in with a chance of scooping the Medal and who might give you even more value. Over the next few weeks – between now and the start of the season and then into the first few rounds – we’ll be taking a closer look at some of the hopefuls for the Brownlow, and we’ll be keeping you up to date with the odds as they change. At the moment, though, it’s Ablett who’s the favourite, and we’ve laid out a few of the other stars in the running below:
Gary Ablett Jr $7.00
Scott Pendlebury $10.00
Joel Selwood $10.00
Nathan Fyfe $10.00
Patrick Dangerfield $11.00
Jobe Watson $12.00
Sam Mitchell $12.00
Dane Swan $13.00
Trent Cotchin $15.00
Ryan Griffen $23.00
Lance Franklin $26.00
