AFL Odds: Can Blues Win Against The Odds On Friday?
July 28th, 2014 by TJ DilferBlues fans will have been cheered by a win in the last round over North Melbourne, but they face a stiff challenge on Friday night against a Fremantle side who will be smarting after the Saints overturned them. We’ve got all the Round 19 odds you need as we go into busy weekend!
Both the Swans and Fremantle saw good strong runs come to an end in Round 18, but that doesn’t necessarily bode well for Carlton, who face the Dockers on Friday. The Blues might be starting to give up on the dream of finals footie in 2014, but they could keep things interesting with a win in Round 19. All teams can do at this stage is win all their games – but if the Suns and the Pies are falling away then there might still be a scrap for the eighth spot that the Crows grabbed in the last round…
The Swans go into their game on Saturday as the strong favourites – they’re getting odds of $1.28 on Sportsbet as of right now – and they’ll be looking to get back to winning ways, too. The Hawks won the top of the ladder clash in Round 18, but Sydney are still the ladder leaders, and for the sides at the top – the top five are two wins clear of sixth place – these next few rounds are about finding form for the finals more than they are about getting there in the first place. Sydney will be looking to do that against Essendon on Saturday, whilst the Bombers will want to dig themselves deeper into the top eight and make sure that no late charge can spoil their party.
