AFL Odds For The 2015 Brownlow Medal
February 13th, 2015 by TJ DilferAussie Rules is a team game. There might well be fans who will tell you it’s the ultimate team game – the show ponies don’t get far without their mates in an AFL game, let alone over the course of the season. And so it’s probably fitting that the game’s highest honour for individual players tends to recognise the players, often in the middle of the park, who do the bulk of the grunt work. It might be a little bit controversial, and it might mean that some truly great players have finished their careers without a sniff of the Brownlow, but that’s the way things stand – and you’ll want to be taking that into consideration when you’re looking at the AFL odds we’ve got for you, including all the odds for the 2015 Brownlow Medal.
We’ll be bringing you a closer look, over the next few weeks as the anticipation grows for the start of the season, at the men who are in the running for the Brownlow Medal – the guys who will be looking to follow Matthew Priddis into the record books. The man with the shortest odds would likely have to make extra room in the trophy cabinet – if Gary Ablett Jr. can claim another Brownlow Medal, it will be his third, which will equal the best effort of any AFL player in the history of the medal. A third Brownlow would make Ablett one of the modern greats – the last time a third Medal was picked up was back in the seventies!
So we’ll be taking a closer look at Ablett going into the 2015 season, to see if he’s going to offer value at $5.00 to make history, and also in the following weeks we’ll be looking at the men who will be thinking of denying him the pleasure. Plus we’ll have all the AFL odds and more, as usual…
