AFL Odds: Here Come the Finals!

September 3rd, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

Well, the dust has settled after a final round of the regular season that offered so much excitement, and provided some cracking games – including a draw between Essendon and Carlton – but that ultimately left things unchanged as far as the finals places are concerned. It has taken percentages to separate the teams at the top – all of them on 68 points – and percentages to separate the two teams at the foot of the ladder, too. St Kilda are your wooden spoon winners in 2014, and it’s the Swans who take the laurels of the minor premiership. But they’ll not be thinking about that: they’ll be looking ahead to the first week of finals footie, and you can do that, too, just by following the link to our AFL odds page!

Once you’ve soaked in all the information coming your way after the last round of the regular season, you’ll no doubt settle on that first final of the 2014 season – and what a cracker it is in store! In a continuation of what is developing into the great rivalry of the modern AFL, Hawthorn and Geelong will meet on Friday night to contest the first of the finals, and we couldn’t ask for a better way to kick off the business end of the 2014 season. They met in Round 22 and fought out a good game that gave us a hint, perhaps, of what is to come, and it’s the Hawks who go into the first final with the shorter odds: they’re a $1.50 bet on Sportsbet right now, where you’ll get odds of $2.60 for Geelong. Those odds aren’t long enough to even start thinking about writing the Cats off, and both sides will be giving it everything to avoid the horrible pressure of that second chance.

We’ve got all your AFL odds for the finals and for all the medals, so hit the link and check them out!
