AFL Odds: Port Adelaide In Strife
July 14th, 2014 by TJ DilferRound 18 is here, and so we’ve got all your Round 18 odds waiting at the other end of that link for you. And what will this round turn up? It’s spread out over a couple of weekends, so we’ve all got plenty of time to consider the games and the results – as well as the impact those results will have on the ladder.
There are a couple of sides putting together great winning runs at just the right time, and those are the two sides at the top of the ladder. But whilst Fremantle have a fixture against St Kilda that their fans might well have already chalked up the points for, the Swans face a tricky contest against the Hawks. And if Hawthorn want to really make a statement and press their case for a top-two finish, then there’s no better way to do that than to beat the rampant Swans. Meanwhile, Port Adelaide are at risk of seeing their season disappear in a tail-spin if they can’t find a result in Round 18, and they’ll be targeting a visit by Melbourne as a chance to get things moving back in the right direction again…
The odds on offer at Sportsbet right now have Sydney and Fremantle as the front runners for the silverware in 2014. You’ll get odds of $3.25 for a winning season for the Swans, while the Dockers are at $3.50. It’s maybe still a bit too far out to be judging who’ll be competing in the Grand Final, let alone who’s going to win it – there’s still quite a bit of season to go, and whilst the Swans and the Dockers are the sides who are peaking right now, there’s still time for things to change!
