AFL Odds: Two Rounds To Go
August 20th, 2014 by TJ DilferThere are only two games left of the regular AFL season, and the fates of some sides have been decided, where the fates of others still hang very much in the balance. The lucky ones have their destinies in their own hands – the unlucky ones have to simply watch and hope. In the meantime, you can get all the Round 22 odds you’ll need simply by clicking the link!
Port Adelaide and Carlton are two sides whose finals destinies have been decided, but there’s still something on offer for the Power on Friday night: a win keeps alive their hopes of sneaking past the Dockers into fourth spot. For that to happen, of course, they need the Lions to repeat their winning performance from Round 21 when they face off against Fremantle, but all the Port Adelaide boys can do is win and hope.
Saturday kicks off with what could be the scrap of the round between Adelaide and North Melbourne, both teams desperate to register a crucial win that will keep their finals plans on track. For North Melbourne, a win would make a home elimination final a stronger possibility, while the Crows need the win to ensure they’re involved in finals footie in September. Watch out for fireworks!
It’s another last chance saloon for the Suns on Saturday, when they take on Essendon. Anything but a win will see their finals hopes finally and permanently extinguished, while a win for Essendon will pretty much secure their own finals berth. It’ll be the first time since the 2011 season that the Bombers have still been playing in September, and they’ll want to make sure their percentage is strong with a big win over an increasingly hapless-looking Gold Coast outfit.
