AFL: Sunday’s Games And Odds
June 5th, 2014 by TJ DilferIf Saturday’s busy card of AFL games is all about the scrap at the bottom of the ladder, then Sunday’s equally busy schedule could go some way to deciding how things pan out at the top: Gold Coast, Sydney, Fremantle, Adelaide and North Melbourne are all in action on Sunday, and all in the top nine. So get all your Round Twelve odds checked out before we’re into the action!
Sunday’s game against Sydney is another huge test for the Suns in a season that has seen great success for them, but that could slip through their fingers if they’re not careful. There will be few predicting a Gold Coast victory, but it could be that they’re more comfortable with the underdog tag anyway, and that they can just go out and express themselves against arguably the form side in the competition at the moment.
Adelaide go into the weekend as underdogs as well, but they go in knowing that if they can beat Fremantle then they’ll end up on the same 24 points as them, and they’ll give themselves every chance in the world of breaking into the top eight as we get towards the business end of the season. Now isn’t the time to lose touch with the finals spots…
Which will be exactly what the North Melbourne coaching staff will be thinking, and possibly communicating to their players, too. They’re not safe by any stretch of the imagination in eighth spot, and a win over Richmond is a good chance to pick up points. The odds say they should be able to do just that, but there’s some real pressure around, so you never know!
