March 31st, 2014 by TJ DilferThe Roosters are the team to beat in 2014, it looks like, and they are the shortest odds to take the title, sitting at $4.25 on Sportsbet right now and carrying the favourites tag for the time being. But if the Sydney side are the team to beat, then Manly were the team to do it in Round Four, sneaking a great game by 8 points. What will Round Five serve up for NRL fans? All the NRL 2014 odds you need are on Sportsbet, including all the odds for a coming round that could see things shaken up even further in the NRL…
The Roosters are back in action after their defeat by the Sea Eagles, and it’s against Canterbury that they will be looking to set their season right and get things back on track. They are the $1.33 favourites to do just that, but the Bulldogs will have aspirations of their own when these two sides meet on the 4th, especially after a Round Four destruction of Melbourne that has given them real momentum. Canterbury are a $3.20 bet to grab a win and put some pressure on the teams ahead of them on the ladder in Round Five…
The other game on Friday night is a clash between the Broncos and the Eels. Both these teams are coming off the back of good wins, but they’re in very different places on the ladder. The Eels have struggled in patches – they went down to Manly in Round Three, and suffered a record defeat at the hands of the Roosters in Round Two – so it remains to be seen which Eels side shows up on Friday. Either way, they will have to be on top form to overcome a Broncos side that’s very much in contention at the top of the ladder at this early stage in the season. The Broncos are the favourites at $1.35, whilst you’ll get $3.00 for a Parramatta win.

March 25th, 2014 by TJ DilferRound Three of the NRL is behind us, and we’re starting to look ahead and see what good Round Four odds there might be waiting for us. There have been some cracking games to enjoy so far in what has seemed like a busy season – and an injury list that just keeps getting longer, making us think that missing players will be a huge factor as we get towards the business end of the season. March 19th, 2014 by TJ DilferThe teamsheets are in for Round Three, and the world of the NRL is abuzz with all the talking points generated by another crop of excellent games in Round Two – this is why we love the NRL: all the action is coming thick and fast, and it’s a short turnaround time for all the teams, meaning that the winners from Round Two have the chance to capitalise straight away, and the losers from the previous round are given the chance to bounce back immediately.
One of those sides looking to bounce back is Parramatta, who will need to Read the rest of this entry »

March 18th, 2014 by TJ DilferIt’s shaping up to be a busy weekend on our sofa, with two great NRL games on Friday night that will need watching, and three more come Saturday that we’ll be reluctant to miss. Both the Roosters and the Rabbitohs are in action, and we’ll be watching to see if they can live up to the pre-season billing after an interesting opening couple of rounds. The Cowboys have been thrown into the mix by plenty of pundits predicting success in 2014, as well, and we’ll be watching them, too, when they take on the New Zealand Warriors on Saturday night. Before that game, though, there’s Read the rest of this entry »
