Caulfield Cup Racing Odds: Admire Rakti In Profile
September 12th, 2014 by Pom de TurfWith so many well-fancied international horses making the trip to Australia for the 2014 Melbourne Spring Festival, there’s no shortage of exciting prospects who will have been in quarantine before they race. A look at the Racing odds for the Caulfield Cup, in particular, will show you that there are a number of overseas prospects in contention, and so we’re going to take a closer look at them over the next few weeks, ready for the Caulfield Cup on October 18th…
First up is Admire Rakti. There have been a few years now without a strong Japanese presence in the Melbourne Spring, but it might just be that concerns about horses’ health are calming, and Admire Rakti is going to be part of a new wave of Japanese contenders. Of course, if the classy 7-year-old is right up amongst the places, he will do a lot to encourage his compatriots to make the journey. The Caulfield Cup could be just about the right distance for him, too – his notable success this year came over further, but he has a decent turn of foot and he’s likely to finish well. A possibility for the Melbourne Cup, as well, in 2014, Admire Rakti will be expected to compete – if only to justify the return to the race after plans were shelved in 2013. A Caulfield Cup win would make him a very interesting option for the Melbourne Cup, of course, but he’s got a strong field to beat home before we start to think about that. Take a look at the Racing odds we’ve got for you at the other end of the link there – Admire Rakti will be in there for the Caulfield Cup, and rightly so…
