Golden Rose Racing Odds: All Eyes On The Run To The Rose
August 27th, 2014 by Pom de TurfAll eyes will be on the Run To The Rose at the weekend, as the race could be key influence not just on the Racing odds of the horses who contest the Golden Rose, but crucial to deciding which horses make it to Royal Randwick on September 13th.
Most of the press attention will likely be on Gai Waterhouse-trained prospect Almalad, who comes into the race unbeaten and as one of the early favourites. He’s a great prospect for the Melbourne Spring, and Waterhouse has been busy getting everybody excited about him in the run-up to the Season – that excitement will hit fever pitch if he wins the Run To The Rose, and especially if he wins it in grand style.
But Bring Me The Maid is likely to have a say in the race, and will want to exact a measure of revenge for her defeat in the J.J. Atkins – she’s sitting on the same odds as Almalad at this stage and is a very real chance to win it.
And don’t write off a win by either Brazen Beau or Nostradamus, who could both make a name for themselves and set up an exciting Spring Season by claiming the Run To The Rose. Also in the mix will likely be Sniper Fire along with stablemate Law, and Sarajevo, Washington Heights and Ygritte are noticeably right in amongst the shortest odds. If you’re watching the race, you won’t be alone, and if you’re interesting in seeing what impact the result has on the Racing odds for the Melbourne Spring – and on the field for the Golden Rose – then just hit that there link…
