Melbourne Spring Odds: Look Out For Terravista And Lankan Rupee
October 1st, 2014 by Pom de TurfThere could be a spectacular showdown in store in the 2014 Melbourne Spring, when superstar sprinters Terravista and Lankan Rupee go head-to-head in a race that will have the whole Racing world glued to their screens. We’ll be watching the Racing odds closely for this one, too, but it could be that it’s too close to call!
It’s a tantalising prospect in store, and you’d have to say that Terravista has been doing everything expected of him to set up the exciting clash with a horse who has been rated as the best sprinter in the world. After he claimed victory in The Shorts at Randwick, a date was set with Lankan Rupee as both horses looked ahead to the Manikato Stakes in November. But Lankan Rupee has had some trouble keep his end of the bargain, and in keeping his reputation as the world’s best sprinter untarnished. He suffered his second defeat after going in as the odds-on favourite in the Moir Stakes last week, and that’s enough to raise a few concerns in his camp, we would have thought. We’ll get another chance to see Lankan Rupee in action now, most likely, in the second week of October, in the Schillaci Stakes. Whether than means that Racing fans will be denied their chance to see Lankan Rupee seek revenge against Buffering, who beat him by a head in the Moir Stakes, or if Terravista will have the chance to test himself against Lankan Rupee in the 2014 Melbourne Spring Season, we’re not entirely sure. What we do know for sure, though, is that we’ll be keeping an eye on the Racing odds for all those three speedsters, and you’ll see any news as soon as we get it in these pages, too…
