Melbourne Spring Racing Odds: Dissident Strengthens Cox Plate Credentials
September 18th, 2014 by Pom de TurfThe field for the Makybe Diva Stakes at the end of August was a strong one, and it’s a race that always has punters and pundits all around the world interested – it can give us a good idea of how things are likely to pan out for a few horses over the course of the Melbourne Spring, and where they’re likely to go in the Racing Odds that are waiting for you at the other end of the link there.
So when Dissident came home to win the Makybe Diva Stakes ahead of Fawkner and Puissance De Lune, he did his 2014 Melbourne Spring hopes no harm whatsoever, and he will have put himself right in the frame for the betting in a couple of big races. Trainer Peter Moody will be understandably chuffed with the way Dissident is likely to shape up for the 2014 season, and he was a happy man after the Makye Diva: ‘the world is his oyster. He just put a quality field to the sword. He was a terrific three-year-old and mixed it with the best of his age. He’s trained on since then.’
Dissident will most likely be aimed at the Cox Plate on October 25th, and he’s going to be a real chance to win it, too, if he can carry some good form with him: check out where he stands in the Racing odds by hitting the link…
