Melbourne Spring Racing Odds: Run To Rose Nominations
August 27th, 2014 by Pom de TurfIt’s an exciting field packed with emerging talent that will contest the 2014 Run To The Rose this weekend (Saturday the 30th), and the way this race pans out could have a real impact not only on the Racing odds as they shape up for the Melbourne Spring, but also on the route a few of the most-fancied horses will take through the Spring Festival.
Grabbing the headlines in the build-up to the Run To The Rose is Gai Waterhouse’s Almalad, who comes into the race unbeaten in his short career so far. His last run was a win in the J.J. Atkins that has set him up as one of the potential stars of the 2014 season, but he’ll face stiff competition not just as we go through the Melbourne Spring, but in the Run To The Rose, too.
That competition includes Caulfield Guineas hopeful Brazen Beau as well as his stablemates Law and Sniper Fire, all of them under the care of Chris Waller. John O’Shea is well represented, too, with Ghibellines, Kumaon and Sarajevo all nominated, and the Hawkes brothers have a real chance in the form of Nostradamus. All in all, it’s shaping up to be a race that feels like one of the first shots of the Spring Season, and it could see a few changes to those Racing odds that we’ve got for you at the end of the link!
