Melbourne Spring Racing Odds: Tea Rose Stakes Results In
September 24th, 2014 by Pom de TurfThe Tea Rose Stakes at Royal Randwick last weekend was always going to be a good opportunity to see some key horses in action ahead of some big races in the 2014 Melbourne Spring, and it proved to be that and more. We’re going to need to check back in with the Racing odds for those races to see if there have been any big changes, and we’ve included a link there for you to do the same!
The race was won by exciting filly First Seal, whose trainer John Thompson was very pleased indeed: ‘back on a dry track and she just hasn’t been showing that turn of foot (on heavy ground) that we know she has got at home and today got a good run in the race from barrier one and she’s beaten two of the best fillies in the country there. She’s untapped and a very high class filly. Hopefully she can go on to bigger and better things. Once she gets over those classic distances she’ll really come to the fore.’
And he’s right to say she beat home some big prospects: Winx, who ran second, was unbeaten coming into the race, and there are some big things expected of Earthquake in the 2014 Melbourne Spring. Elsewhere in the race, Peggy Jeans’ trainer Gerald Ryan was looking for her to show improvement, but she could only manage a run that saw her come home at the back of the field.
There might be a few worried trainers looking ahead to the rest of the Festival, then – and there might be some movement in the Racing odds for key horses, so make sure you’re up to date!
