NRL: Get Your Roosters and Rabbitohs Odds For Friday
March 17th, 2014 by TJ DilferThe Round One clash between the Rabbitohs and the Roosters wasn’t just billed as potentially the fixture of the round, but there was plenty of talk as to what it would show us about the sides that would be in the mix for success in 2014. As it turned out, it was the Rabbitohs who walked away from that one with the win, and in convincing style, but there’s no time to rest on your laurels in the NRL, and South Sydney found themselves in the way of a Sea Eagles resurgence in Round Two, and on the wrong side of the result. The Roosters, in the meantime, were busy throwing egg onto the faces of all the pundits who wrote them off after the Round One defeat to the Bunnies, and it was Parramatta who felt the brunt of their impressive performance, and who went down to a heavy defeat.
And both Sydney sides are back in action on Friday night, in what looks like it’ll be a must-watch night of NRL action. South Sydney are the strong $1.15 favourites to beat a Tigers side who showed some real promise from their youngsters in a good win over the Titans in the heat. It will be a much sterner test for them against the Rabbitohs, of course, and their $5.00 odds reflect that. The odds are much closer for the Broncos and the Roosters, who are also running out on Friday, and who will both be looking to keep their momentum going after good wins in Round Two. The Roosters are the $1.55 favourites, but they likely won’t have such an easy time of it against the Broncos as they did against a fragile Eels side, and Brisbane are a tempting $2.35. It won’t just be their fans putting money down at those odds, especially as we’ve seen some results go against the grain already, and especially since there are always upsets to be had in the early season…
