NRL Odds: Crowe Challenges Warriors
December 24th, 2014 by TJ DilferThe Rabbitohs have been nothing short of a powerhouse in recent years. Take a look at the NRL odds we’ve got for you, and you’ll see that once again they’re short odds to make 2015 a winning season. And there are no signs at all of them being anything other than perennial contenders for the years to come – everything looks to be in place to keep the Rabbitohs not just ticking over nicely, but continuing to improve and to push the teams around them (and so often below them) to be better, too.
So, in the light of that success, you’d say that Russell Crowe, the man behind the Rabbitohs, is a man who knows a little bit about what you need to do to create a winning culture at an NRL club, and about the things that an NRL franchise needs to have in place to create and to sustain success. If you’ll allow that Crowe knows what he’s talking about, then it might be of some interest to you that he’s picking the Warriors to be the next NRL powerhouse, and a real challenge in the future to his own Rabbitohs franchise.
The Warriors have suffered in recent years from a chronic inconsistency that has seen them struggling to find a finals berth, and in fact last season saw them finish in ninth spot on the ladder. But Crowe thinks they’ve got the makings of a winning formula: ‘it wouldn’t take much to get the Warriors to win a competition. You’re one team in a whole country. The way you make a sports club strong is through membership, and your time so there’s never a lull in your year. So you don’t go into preseason and you’re scrabbling around to pay bills. They need to go around the country a bit more and not be so Auckland-focused. The potential of what they can do…they’re the strongest team in the NRL I think.’
Are you buying Crowe’s take on the Warriors? The bookies have them at odds of $15.00 to claim the 2015 title, and more likely at odds of $1.80 to find a place in the finals in the coming season. Obviously, we’ve got all the NRL odds you’re going to need for the 2015 season, and obviously the Warriors are in there – but are you with Crowe in predicting great things for them this year and in the years that follow?
