NRL: Odds For Titans v Tigers and Eagles v Raiders
April 24th, 2014 by TJ DilferThe NRL season might still be quite young, but things are starting to take shape for a few of the sides, and there’s plenty of work to do for a few more. Looking at the NRL odds after seven rounds of hard-fought games, it’s still the Roosters who carry the billing of favourites, but they’re joined at odds of $5.00 by Manly, who have won those odds on the back of a strong early season. At the other end of the scale are the Raiders, looking a long-shot that even their fans might not be tempted by at $81.00.
And it’s the Eagles and the Raiders who will be in action in the first of two Sunday night games that close out the Anzac Day weekend and Round Eight of the 2014 NRL season. On paper, and after a look at the ladder, Raiders fans should be pretty confident going into this one, especially after a strong comeback win in the last round – they’re the favourites, too, at $1.40. But the Raiders roared back against the Storm last week to win their game, too, and they might be starting to build something – they have three wins behind them now and might be looking to upset their $3.07 odds.
The Titans had to wait until the end of Round Seven to lose their top spot on the ladder, and they’ll have to wait until Sunday night to try to get it back, as well. Whether they can find a win against the Tigers, though, is another question. We’ll be watching these two top-four sides going at it as the perfect end to Round Eight, but which way are you betting? The Titans will be hurting after losing that top spot, and will be looking for a win to get back into the lead, but they’re the outsiders at odds of $2.10. Looks to us like the Tigers will be just too strong at home, and that’s why they’re the side getting odds of $1.77, and the best bet, most likely…
