NRL: Odds in Bulldogs’ Favour At $1.55
March 3rd, 2014 by TJ DilferLast year saw the Canterbury Bulldogs as finalists, but the season was ultimately a disappointing one for the Bulldogs and their fans. The loss of Ben Barba is the news getting all the headlines for the Bulldogs in the build-up to their first game of the 2014 season, and who will be running out in a Broncos jersey for the first time against his old club? Barba. So, will the Bulldogs take the opportunity to get one over on their old clubmate, or will it be Barba who takes away the bragging rights after the season opener?
Canterbury are $1.55 to win the game, and $2.85 to win it by 13 or more points, so their fans will be confident going into Friday night. Looking beyond the opener, the Bulldogs will have high hopes of reaching the finals again in 2014 – they’re a $14.00 bet to win the Grand Final, but a much shorter $3.50 to finish in the top four. The Bulldogs management and players won’t be thinking beyond the Broncos, though – you can be sure of that. Getting odds of $2.45, the Broncos will be desperate to get a win – Ben Barba at least as much as anyone else. It’s reaching the point where Broncos fans will be getting fractious if their side see another mediocre season, so 2014 is a big year for them. Make no mistake, though: they pose a big threat to the Bulldogs, and with the extra bite of Barba’s return to face his old club, this could be a great game.
