NRL Odds: Life After State Of Origin
June 23rd, 2014 by TJ DilferSo the drought is finally over, and we’ve little doubt that Blues fans celebrated their first State of Origin win in nine years with appropriate enthusiasm. In fact, we’d be surprised if the glow has faded at all just yet. But there is a league rumbling on in the background, and there will be plenty of players looking to throw themselves back into action for their clubs. That’s not to say that Game Three of the State of Origin won’t be just as fiercely contested as the first two (it is the State of Origin, after all…), but we’ve got all your NRL odds for you as the focus shifts back to the league…
And looking at those odds for the first game of Round 16, there’s a tasty treat in store to kick things off: the Sea Eagles are sitting pretty at the top of the ladder, but they’ve got a tough test ahead against a Roosters side who are only two points behind them. The bookies have Manly as the $1.80 favourites going into what could be a real cracker, and a fantastic way to get things going in Round 16.
And from a crucial clash for the top to a chance for one of the sides down at the foot of the ladder to turn things around. Friday night sees the Sharks in action against the Broncos, and hoping to put an end to a dismal run of defeats. Brisbane will be looking to bounce back from a loss of their own, though, and get back to winning ways straight away, so expect them to be well motivated. The bookies have the Sharks at long odds of $4.00, and that’s probably generous, if anything.
