NRL Odds: Roosters Favourites To Bounce Back
September 17th, 2014 by TJ DilferWe reckon there were fewer than 10 seconds still on the clock when Jamie Soward’s kick sailed home, but that doesn’t make the result any less real for the Panthers, or any less painful for the Roosters and their fans. You’d think it probably makes it a sight more painful, in fact. But the Roosters have a chance to bounce right back against the Cowboys in Friday’s semi-final, and a look at the NRL odds we’ve got for you at the end of that link will tell you they’re the odds-on favourites to do just that.
That said, $1.45 doesn’t make them that convincingly favourites when the Cowboys are $2.85 on Sportsbet right now. Have the Roosters got another big game in them after the heartbreak of last weekend? They’ll need one against the Cowboys, but they should go into this final that they had been hoping not to play with a real point to prove, and we expect to see their big men doing damage to the Cowboys defence right from the start…
And in what could be a battle of disciplined, percentage rugby from the Roosters against flashes of brilliance from the stars of the Cowboys backline, early points are going to be absolutely crucial. The Cowboys will have buckets of confidence coming into this game on the back of eight wins in their last nine games, but they’ve got their work cut out against a team that has suffered back-to-back defeats just three times in the past couple of years. The Roosters don’t like to lose two weeks running, and they won’t want to start now, but these are the two form teams of the end of the NRL regular season, and if anyone can end the Roosters’ 2014 campaign early, it’s the Cowboys.
We’ve got all sorts of NRL odds, markets and futures for you at the other side of that link, so make sure you’ve got all you need ahead of semi-finals weekend!
