NRL: Roosters Odds On In Round 9
May 8th, 2014 by TJ DilferAfter a week of Representative Rugby and a Test Match that gave NRL fans a chance to catch their breath and take stock, Round Nine is set to kick off with a massive clash between the Roosters and the Tigers. Looking at the odds for Round Nine, there could be closer games in the round, and there could be better ones, but this has all the makings of an epic encounter that shakes things up at the top of the ladder, and leaves us wondering how we made it through a whole week without the NRL…
Allianz Stadium has seen some real rugby league history unfold over the years, and Friday’s clash between the Roosters and the Tigers looks set to add to that list of great spectacles: a fitting 600th game on some of the most famous turf in Australia. Sydney go in as the favourites with odds of $1.28, but much could depend on the contributions of key players. For the Tigers, young prospect Mitchell Moses will not make his NRL debut because of a suspension, but expect Martin Taupau and Aaron Woods to be vital. The Tigers bench has been used to great effect over the first eight rounds to pile young, aggressive talent into the mix, and that could be a big factor again on Friday. On the Roosters roster there’s no shortage of big names who can change a game, and there’s one in particular that we’re drawn to, as ever: will this be the week that Sonny Bill Williams finds his best form? If it is, then the Tigers will have their hands full, and may not be able to overcome those $3.85 odds…
