NRL Odds: Look To The Skies
December 31st, 2014 by TJ DilferThere’s often a distinction made between the NSW-based teams in the NRL and the rest of the franchises. In fact, if you check out the NRL odds you’ll see that you can bet on which of those non-NSW sides will finish highest up the ladder come the end of the 2015 season (the shortest odds are beside the Broncos, incidentally: $2.85). But the sides outside of NSW have a big problem to face down every season – and this season it looks like Read the rest of this entry »

December 31st, 2014 by Pom de TurfYou and I might not have big plans for New Year’s Day – beyond the obvious careful recovery and debrief from the previous night, and perhaps a bit of a look at the Racing odds before a busy day’s Racing hits the telly. But spare a thought for all the men and women who will be putting in a big shift on New Year’s Day to make that Racing happen – and it’s a full schedule, too, so there will be Read the rest of this entry »

December 24th, 2014 by G WaldorfChristmas is coming, and it’s a time that Cricket fans love – with good reason! This year’s Christmas Cricket feast is looking like a particularly mouth-watering, one, too, and there’s plenty of reasons to make sure you’ve checked all the Cricket odds before the festivities get underway…
Australia might have sewn up the second Test quite handily, but the first two contests have been compelling viewing, and there’s Read the rest of this entry »

December 24th, 2014 by TJ DilferWhen they first got their hands on the draw for the 2015 NRL season, Bulldogs fans could be forgiven for a bit of disappointment – it’s fair to say that theirs isn’t the easiest draw out there, with the team that beat them in the Grand Final, the Rabbitohs, featuring in the first few weeks, as well as the Roosters, the Sea Eagles and a couple of face-offs with the Panthers.
If you have a look, though, at the NRL odds we’ve got for you, you’ll see that the Bulldogs are currently a $7.50 bet, with the Rabbitohs and Roosters the only teams with shorter odds. And it looks like punters have the Bulldogs picked as the franchise with the best value in the early season – clearly memories of Read the rest of this entry »

December 24th, 2014 by Pom de TurfIt’s not as though the Racing eases off for the Christmas period all that much, but it’s fair to say that there’s plenty of excitement coming up for Racing fans in the new year, and you’ll no doubt be interested in running an eye over the Racing odds we’ve got for you for all of those races in Australia and others from around the world.

December 24th, 2014 by TJ DilferThere’s no doubt we still love a game of footie, but there were rumblings all the way through last season from fans in all corners of the country, and from the AFL Fans Association, about the unnecessary difficulty of just getting hold of tickets to watch AFL games, especially for big matches. That suggests to us that people were wanting to get down to the games, but that they were put off by the difficulty – we certainly wouldn’t put the drop-off in attendance down to a lack of fans, especially given the success of online betting sites, and the sheer volume of people checking out those AFL odds each and every week.
And it seems like Read the rest of this entry »

December 24th, 2014 by TJ DilferThe Rabbitohs have been nothing short of a powerhouse in recent years. Take a look at the NRL odds we’ve got for you, and you’ll see that once again they’re short odds to make 2015 a winning season. And there are no signs at all of them being anything other than perennial contenders for the years to come – everything looks to be in place to keep the Rabbitohs not just ticking over nicely, but continuing to improve and to push the teams around them (and so often below them) to be better, too.
So, in the light of that success, you’d say that Russell Crowe, the man behind the Rabbitohs, is Read the rest of this entry »

December 24th, 2014 by G WaldorfYou could be forgiven for thinking that the shortest form of the game was a young man’s game – it’s still pretty new, and it’s where we’re seeing all sorts of innovation both with bat and ball. It’s not really a place to hide anyone in the field, either, but a look at the Cricket odds we’ve got for you will reveal that the online bookies think there are some ‘experienced’ players set to make an impact in this year’s Big Bash season.

December 24th, 2014 by TJ DilferIt’s quite common to see AFL players offering their opinions of rival players and teams, and you probably wouldn’t take too much notice of that criticism – because it’s very often criticism, and not a lot of it constructive, either – when you’re looking over the AFL odds we’ve got for you at this early stage at the other end of the link there. But when a player like Dane Swan offers a refreshingly honest appraisal of his own work for Collingwood over the 2014 season – and makes a commitment at the same time to Read the rest of this entry »
