Racing Odds: Magic Millions For Miss Idyllic
December 19th, 2014 by Pom de TurfThe 1200m of the Magic Millions 2-Year-Old Classic won’t be run until January 10th, but there will be canny owners and trainers already targeting the race – and that’s worth knowing when you’re looking over the Racing odds in advance of the race.
One of the those horses who will be targeted at the Magic Millions on January 10th will be Miss Idyllic, trained by David Hayes, and he would have been hoping for a smooth run-up to this weekend, when he will hope to have Miss Idyllic in action at Rosehill. Hayes won’t have been accounting for the bush fires that have him besieged at his base camp Lindsay Park at Euroa, but the good news is that the fires have been an inconvenience more than a tragedy – no horses and no staff have been hurt, and Hayes is able to find other ways to continue with business pretty much as normal: ‘the good news is there was no staff or horses injured. It was pretty dramatic sort of twelve hours. She (Miss Idyllic) is highly likely to run. Just the float can’t get into Euroa to the property at Lindsay Park, but we can get her out. The road is open to Euroa so we will get her out to the freeway. (Jockey) Michael (Walker) couldn’t believe she got beaten the other day. He thinks she’s good. She’s already well up the order of entry for the Magic Millions, and if she was to win Saturday, she’s be one of the favourites. It would be nice if she wins, but I just want to see her run well.’
Which all adds up, to our mind, to Miss Idyllic being a horse to watch for the Magic Millions in the new year, and so one to keep a close eye out for this weekend, too. And, of course, when you see her in the Racing odds we’ve got for you…
