State Of Origin Betting: As It Stands
May 23rd, 2013 by adminLess than two weeks out from the State of Origin, and all the signs so far are pointing to a close series, which is great for the fans, but trickier if you’re looking to place a bet. All sorts of pundits have already started picking their sides for the opening game on the 5th, and there will be more of that, no doubt, right up to the announcement of the teams. It looks like Queensland are the side that will take the bookies’ edge into the opening game: they’re currently at $1.83 to win the fixture, where you’ll get $2.00 for the Blues. For the series, though, you’re looking at $1.70 for the Maroons to come out on top, and you’ll get $2.15 for NSW to take the win.
Take a look at some of the other wagers on offer, and you’ll see a similar story: it’s going to be close. Both sides look like they’ve got plenty of firepower, and the betting on the first team to score reflects that: NSW at $1.91 and Queensland at $1.80. Just so you know, you’ll get $226.00 if there’s no try in the game, but that might just be long odds for a reason…
We’ll keep an eye on the odds for you, but we suspect it’ll be too close to call – watch this space!
