State of Origin Odds: NSW Squad Named
May 21st, 2014 by TJ DilferThe State of Origin is one of the most exciting sporting spectacles in the world, and it’s arguably the pinnacle of rugby league excellence. But the series has only had one winner over the past eight years, and that’s a trend that the men in blue will be desperate to reverse – starting with Game One in the middle of next week. NSW go into the series as underdogs at odds of $2.60 (you can get all your State of Origin odds by following the link), and their odds haven’t moved much this week with the announcement of the Blues squad.
And the men who will be seeking to overturn both those odds and recent history will be drawn more from the Bulldogs than any other club, and they’ll be hoping to bring some of the bruising form from their club to the Blues. There have been some bold selection choices from NSW coach Laurie Daley, but his men line up against a very settled Queensland side, and there will be plenty of uncertainty right up to the kick-off of Game One. Whatever speculation we might see between now and then, though, the men with the task of stopping the rampant Maroons know who they are, and what they’re up against.
