July 28th, 2014 by Pom de Turf

Kirramosa was robbed of the chance to confirm her staying credentials in the Autumn, but trainer John Sargent will be very pleased indeed to see her back to full health and back out on the track again. And Kirramosa is a name we’ll be keeping in mind as the Spring Season comes closer, and it’s one we expect to see featuring heavily in the Racing odds on sites like Sportsbet…

July 25th, 2014 by Pom de Turf

We’re not seeing many Racing odds for the Emirates Stakes in November, but we’ve already mentioned a horse (here) – Speediness – who’s likely to be a prospect for the race (and who won it last year) unless a run in the Cox Plate takes him away. July 12th, 2014 by Pom de Turf

It can sometimes feel like the real fliers are left out of the headlines in the Spring Season, with the media focus trained on the really high-profile races: the Melbourne Cup itself, of course, but the Cox Plate and the Caulfield Cup, as well. The second week in October features a couple of big events over 1600m that we’re very much looking ahead to, and looking forward to, so we’ll get the chance to look at the real fliers in action.

But who those fliers will be is open to debate. Between now and the start of October we’ll be bringing you all the Racing odds as we get them, and Read the rest of this entry »

July 2nd, 2014 by Pom de Turf

It was a good week at Royal Ascot for trainer Eddie Lyman, with Slade Power winning the Diamond Jubilee Stakes and adding another piece of lustre to a great career – throw in King’s Stand Stakes and Queen Mary Stakes wins by Sole Power and Anthem Alexander into the mix, and you can see why Lyman was a happy man as the Ascot Week wrapped up.
