NRL Odds: Look To The Skies
December 31st, 2014 by TJ DilferThere’s often a distinction made between the NSW-based teams in the NRL and the rest of the franchises. In fact, if you check out the NRL odds you’ll see that you can bet on which of those non-NSW sides will finish highest up the ladder come the end of the 2015 season (the shortest odds are beside the Broncos, incidentally: $2.85). But the sides outside of NSW have a big problem to face down every season – and this season it looks like Read the rest of this entry »

December 24th, 2014 by TJ DilferWhen they first got their hands on the draw for the 2015 NRL season, Bulldogs fans could be forgiven for a bit of disappointment – it’s fair to say that theirs isn’t the easiest draw out there, with the team that beat them in the Grand Final, the Rabbitohs, featuring in the first few weeks, as well as the Roosters, the Sea Eagles and a couple of face-offs with the Panthers.
If you have a look, though, at the NRL odds we’ve got for you, you’ll see that the Bulldogs are currently a $7.50 bet, with the Rabbitohs and Roosters the only teams with shorter odds. And it looks like punters have the Bulldogs picked as the franchise with the best value in the early season – clearly memories of Read the rest of this entry »

December 24th, 2014 by TJ DilferThe Rabbitohs have been nothing short of a powerhouse in recent years. Take a look at the NRL odds we’ve got for you, and you’ll see that once again they’re short odds to make 2015 a winning season. And there are no signs at all of them being anything other than perennial contenders for the years to come – everything looks to be in place to keep the Rabbitohs not just ticking over nicely, but continuing to improve and to push the teams around them (and so often below them) to be better, too.
So, in the light of that success, you’d say that Russell Crowe, the man behind the Rabbitohs, is Read the rest of this entry »

December 23rd, 2014 by TJ DilferIf you care to have a look over the NRL odds for the 2015 season, you’ll see that the Dragons are by no means the bookies’ favourites to reach the finals, let alone claim the premiership. But that doesn’t mean that the players and coaches at St George Illawarra – not to mention the fans – won’t have ambitions of making next season a successful one. And that means Read the rest of this entry »

December 19th, 2014 by TJ DilferYou might have seen some mention of the Storm fixture list for the 2015 NRL season in the press over the past few days. We’ve certainly seen some negative reactions from Storm fans, though it has to be said there hasn’t been too much movement in the NRL odds this far out from the first round: the Storm are at odds of $12.00, and you’re welcome to make up your own mind whether you think that represents value or not…

December 18th, 2014 by TJ Dilfer2015 is set to be an historic year. We know this for certain. It might be historic for other reasons as well – some of them might even be on the pitch – but it will definitely go into the history books as the first year to feature a season launch in New Zealand. It’s all part of the NRL’s plan to pull the Kiwis into the mix as much as possible, and we’re all for it, even if it doesn’t seem to have had a huge impact on the NRL odds, suggesting that it will be Read the rest of this entry »

December 18th, 2014 by TJ DilferThere’s no sense denying that Rugby League is an incredibly physical game – just have a look at the footage from the first minutes of the Grand Final and you’ll see all you need to see to convince you of that. The guys who run out week after week for their NRL franchises are astonishingly brave, and they repeatedly put their bodies on the line – there are always going to be injuries. The wear-and-tear that every NRL side suffers over the course of the season can be a real factor, in fact, in the NRL odds that you’ll see at the end of the link there.
But whether that’s a good thing or not depends on who you ask. Whilst the armchair warriors (and we’d include a few pundits in there…) like to Read the rest of this entry »

December 14th, 2014 by TJ DilferThe NRL odds for the first round of the 2015 season might not have started appearing yet, but those fixtures have been decided now, and it’s only a matter of time before you can get money down on your team making a winning start to the season. In the meantime, of course, there’s not exactly a shortage of bets on offer at online betting sites like Sportsbet when it comes to the NRL – we’re seeing futures and outrights aplenty, even without branching out beyond the NRL and the Nines into the Super League or the Challenge Cup.
As you might have expected, it’s Read the rest of this entry »
