AFL Odds: Putting The Physios To Work On The Gold Coast

January 6th, 2015 by TJ Dilfer

The first game of the new AFL season is still a distance away, but it won’t feel much like that for the players, who will be back in work with a vengeance this week, putting in the hard graft that will pay dividends when the season’s well underway, safe in the knowledge that a strong pre-season can see a team’s AFL odds creeping down even before the good results start to arrive.

And the other people who will be Read the rest of this entry »

Cricket Odds: Indian Pride

January 5th, 2015 by G Waldorf

It hasn’t been the tour that they would have wanted, and it’s seen at least one high-profile casualty in Test captain MS Dhoni, but India’s superstar line-up have one more chance to salvage some pride from their trip Down Under. The Cricket odds are not in their favour, it looks like, but can new captain Virat Kohli start his tenure with a win?

He will certainly try to Read the rest of this entry »

NRL Odds: Titans Lose Bird

January 3rd, 2015 by TJ Dilfer

Gold Coast Titans co-captain Greg Bird had an end to 2014 that he’ll be wanting to forget, to say the least. It’s going to be difficult for him to put behind him, you’d think, but the big question is whether you think it’ll affect the NRL odds for the Titans, as well…

After a brush with the police resulted from the spectacularly ill-advised spot Bird chose to make an pit-stop on the day after his wedding, there were always going to be consequences. You could reasonably expect the new Mrs Bird to be less than impressed, but the Titans took a dim view of the incident, as well, and Bird won’t Read the rest of this entry »

AFL Odds: New Year’s Resolutions

January 1st, 2015 by TJ Dilfer

It’s a fresh new start for the year for you, and it could well be for the AFL, too. It might not feel too much like an optimistic new dawn for you this morning, but no doubt that will wear off over the course of the day, and you’ll be stuck with those New Year’s resolutions you made in haste last night. Which got us thinking: which AFL coaches will have New Year’s resolutions, and how will they affect the way you see their teams’ AFL odds?

You would be forgiven for thinking that Hawthorn boss Alastair Clarkson’s wishlist for the 2015 season is a short one – and you’d probably be right. After a season that saw Read the rest of this entry »

December 31st, 2014 by Pom de Turf

The Perth Cup is one of the signature races of the summer, and not just because it falls on New Year’s Day. We know it’s a busy day (and night!) for most people – Racing fans included – so we’re taking a little look at the way the Racing odds for the big race are shaping up here, and, of course, we’ve got all the odds and more that you’ll need if you follow that link…

NRL Odds: Look To The Skies

December 31st, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

There’s often a distinction made between the NSW-based teams in the NRL and the rest of the franchises. In fact, if you check out the NRL odds you’ll see that you can bet on which of those non-NSW sides will finish highest up the ladder come the end of the 2015 season (the shortest odds are beside the Broncos, incidentally: $2.85). But the sides outside of NSW have a big problem to face down every season – and this season it looks like Read the rest of this entry »

Racing Odds: A Busy New Year’s Day In Store

December 31st, 2014 by Pom de Turf

You and I might not have big plans for New Year’s Day – beyond the obvious careful recovery and debrief from the previous night, and perhaps a bit of a look at the Racing odds before a busy day’s Racing hits the telly. But spare a thought for all the men and women who will be putting in a big shift on New Year’s Day to make that Racing happen – and it’s a full schedule, too, so there will be Read the rest of this entry »

NRL Odds: Punters Like The Bulldogs

December 24th, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

When they first got their hands on the draw for the 2015 NRL season, Bulldogs fans could be forgiven for a bit of disappointment – it’s fair to say that theirs isn’t the easiest draw out there, with the team that beat them in the Grand Final, the Rabbitohs, featuring in the first few weeks, as well as the Roosters, the Sea Eagles and a couple of face-offs with the Panthers.

If you have a look, though, at the NRL odds we’ve got for you, you’ll see that the Bulldogs are currently a $7.50 bet, with the Rabbitohs and Roosters the only teams with shorter odds. And it looks like punters have the Bulldogs picked as the franchise with the best value in the early season – clearly memories of Read the rest of this entry »

NRL Odds: Crowe Challenges Warriors

December 24th, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

The Rabbitohs have been nothing short of a powerhouse in recent years. Take a look at the NRL odds we’ve got for you, and you’ll see that once again they’re short odds to make 2015 a winning season. And there are no signs at all of them being anything other than perennial contenders for the years to come – everything looks to be in place to keep the Rabbitohs not just ticking over nicely, but continuing to improve and to push the teams around them (and so often below them) to be better, too.

So, in the light of that success, you’d say that Russell Crowe, the man behind the Rabbitohs, is Read the rest of this entry »
