Which Players Will Change the State of Origin Odds?
May 30th, 2013 by adminSo we’re close enough for the pundits to be picking out the key head-to-heads in the first State of Origin clash, and there are some tasty scraps in store (not least of all Matt Scott and Paul Gallen up front). But who will be the players changing the odds as Queensland and NSW battle it out?
A look at the markets will tell you it’s likely to be a close game, but there’s a few players likely to stand out. Greg Inglis is odds-on to lead the try scoring through the series at $3.50, but look out, too, for Billy Slater at $6.00 and Brett Morris at $7.00. Those same three are also favourites to notch up the first try on Wednesday, with Inglis and Slater at $10.00 and Morris at $11.00. Finally, the Man of the Match award might be worth a look, with Inglis featuring again at $8.00 behind Jonathan Thurston at $7.00 and favourite Cooper Cronk at $6.00. We’ll know more after the first game on Wednesday, of course, and there will no doubt be more good bets to be had before game two – watch this space!
