Cranbourne Cup is Sunday's racing highlight

 Cranbourne Cup Day is among the highlights of a Sunday packed with racing for those keen to dispel a Caulfield Guineas hangover.

Cranbourne is looking to kick off the Spring Racing Carnival in style and local trainer Mick Kent has nominated four for the day's big race, but said last week conditions and other factors could determine who actually appears.

IASbet is offering 3.80 for the favourite, Crossthestart, while Stormhill comes in at 5.50 with the same bookmaker.

Also in the running is Fulmonti on 6.00 and Zupacool on 7.00, followed by The Sportsman at 8.00.

Also considered well in the running is Streetfighter at 9.00 with ISAbet.

Elsewhere racing can also be found at Hawkesbury, where the track was rated a dead 6 on Friday.

Race eight is a maiden plate with a number of notable trainers registering acceptances.

These include the Bart Cummings-trained Miss Hinze, and a double from Wanda Ings in the shape of Grande Effect and Watson.

Also in the running is Status Quo, trained by Peter Snowden, plus Swarm, from Anthony Cummings.

Elsewhere there is also racing at Sunshine Coast, where there are eight races including the Raas Rights Class 4 handicap over 1000m.
