Heart Of Dreams firms as Cox Plate second favourite

 Heart Of Dreams has emerged as second favourite in the Cox Plate betting markets having drawn a favourable barrier three for Saturday.

Centrebet has the gelding on odds of 6.00 for the 2040m Moonee Valley show piece, ahead of firm favourite Whobegotyou, on 2.95 with the same bookmaker.

The pair have met on five occasions, with 'Whobe' leading by three wins to two.

Trainer Mark Kavanagh must face up to a barrier 10 start for Whobetgotyou, although punters appeared undeterred by the draw or the history of what is considered Australia's weight-for-age championship.

Only two favourites have won the $3 million event in the last decade, the last being Makybe Diva in 2005.

Heart Of Dreams trainer Mick Price has said the main obstacle for the second favourite will be the consistency of Whobetgotyou.

Quoted by The Australian, Price said: "The biggest thing for me is that Whobegotyou is four from four at the track.

"And when we beat him in the Underwood Stakes (two races ago) I believe he was vulnerable because he was on a short seven-day back-up and up in distance. He's the one that Heart Of Dreams has to get over."
