Horse racing pundits back Denman's favourite tag

 Denman has deserved his week-long place as the betting favourite for Saturday's 1600m Caulfield Guineas, tipsters have said.

Betfair's Kristen Manning points to the horse's outstanding record of six wins in seven starts, the six coming in a row after a first-time loss.

Trainer Peter Snowden will be hoping Denman, who has proved popular with internet tipsters this week, can make it seven victories in the $1 million group 1 show piece.

"High on confidence, Denman has been well handled by trainer Peter Snowden. This is his first crack at the 1600m but he settles in the style of a miler and he has the pedigree to back him - his close relation God's Own winning this race in memorable style in 2005", Manning wrote at Betfair.com.au.

The betting exchange is offering odds of 2.86 for Denman, with Trusting second favourite on 4.90.

Also heavily in contention for the first glamour group 1 race of the spring is Manhattan Rain, who has looked good in work-outs this week, and is on odds of 7.40.

Betfair also has odds of 8.20 for So You Think, the Bart Cummings-trained Gloaming Stakes winner.
