Laing to take his horses south due to jumping ban

Laing, who as a trainer has 15 horses under his care, says that he will move his operations to South Australia so that he can race them there.He said, in an interview with aapracing: “It is not our preferred option, but we have horses and owners to cater for and if they (South Australia) were the only ones that had enough guts in Australia to run jump racing then we would reward them.” Jump racing is to cease, due to the belief that jumping damages and kills horses, and riders.
The Australian Jump Racing Association is to meet this week so that it can discuss the issue, with a view to working out a course of action.
Racing Victoria is to hold an annual general meeting later in the week, with the ban on jumping being high on the agenda.
