Meetings at Goulburn and Cranbourne provide the racing highlights today, with the latter hosting the Sunday BIG6 Country Showcase.$22,500 is in the pot for this 2025m race, with eight horses due to run, rather than nine, after Royal Excess was scratched.
Daaloob going from barrier six with Brad Rawiller in the saddle could be one of the main chances here, with Robdon Flyer from five also possibly in the mix.
Race eight on the same card is the Luxbet.com Country Showcase, with $22,500 in the prize pot again and 12 runners due to appear.
Among them is Choral, trained by Peter Snowden, and coming into the race off the back of a win last start.
Trainer David Hayes is also represented by Token Of Honour from barrier eight.
Over at Goulburn is the Goulburn Workers Club Anniversary Cup over 1300m and featuring a total prize fund of $25,000.
Eleven are in the field here, with Kevin Moses-trained Grand Cause going from barrier one and carrying the most weight at 58.5kg.
A total of 16 runners are expected to appear in the last race on the same card, with $10,000 up for grabs in the Young’s Stockfeeds Crookwell Cup at 1,300m.
