NRL Round 6 preview, latest betting odds and NRL tips.Tigers vs Bulldogs betting odds: Sydney Football Stadium. 07:35pm Friday.
These two teams normally take it in turn to beat each other, but The Tigers are in much the better form and have a good recent home record. The Bulldogs have yet to hit their straps this season but should not be taken too lightly. That said, Centrebet are offering The Tigers at 1.90 (-2.5pts on the handicap) and that is too good to miss for a home team who are already on 8 points so far.
Tigers best odds: 1.70 with Sportsbet
Bulldogs best odds: 2.20 with Centrebet
Titans vs Dragons betting odds: Skilled Park, Gold Coast. 07:35pm Friday.
Out of six previous meetings Titans have won only once, but rarely have they gone into this fixture in such good heart. This is the game of the week by a distance, and the bookies are finding it difficult to pick the winner. Furthermore, The Dragons, who are currently 2nd favourites for the 2010 NRL title, have lost 4 out of their last 5 away games. Simply put, that is not good enough, Centrebet have the Titans down as 2.00 underdogs here, and we are happy to take that and double our money.
Titans best odds: 2.02 with Centrebet
Dragons best odds: 1.80 with Sportsbet
Roosters vs Raiders betting odds: Sydney Football Stadium. 07:30pm Saturday.
Dating all the way back to 1995, The Roosters have won 11 straight against the Raiders at the Sydney Football Stadium. Canberra gained a handsome and unexpected victory againts the Eels last week, but we shouldn't read too much into that as Parramatta are a team in trouble. The current prices are an accurate reflection of both teams' chances. No bet.
Roosters best odds: 1.50 with Centrebet
Raiders best odds: 2.75 with Sportsbet
Knights vs Cowboys betting odds: EnergyAustralia, NSW. 05:30pm Saturday.
With both teams low on confidence after defeats last weekend, this could be a poor game. The bookies have the Knights very short in the betting here at 1.34. The Cowboys can be backed with an 8.5pt start, if it were 10.5pts then we would be interested. But let's take a watching brief until the bookies release odds for the over/under markets. And we will be looking to go "under" in a low scoring game.
Knights best odds: 1.32 with Centrebet
Cowboys best odds: 3.50 with Sportsbet
Eels vs Rabbitohs betting odds: ANZ Stadium, Sydney. 03:00pm Sunday.
Parramatta are in big trouble. Before the season started The Eels were 5.50 to win the 2010 NRL, now they are out to 15.00 with Sportsbet after only five games. Even considering all that, we are confused as to how The Rabbitohs can be so short in the betting to beat a team they rarely do well against. We'll stick with old adage "form is temporary, class is permanent". These odds are wrong, we are going out on a limb and making The Eels our bet of the week. Lump on.
Eels best odds: 2.15 with Centrebet
Rabbitohs best odds: 1.75 with Sportsbet
Broncos vs Sharks betting odds: Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane. 02:00pm Sunday.
The bottom two teams in the NRL ladder face up here, both with only one win each so far in 2010. The Sharks were brought back down to earth last week with a thumping defeat at the hands of The Sea Eagles. The Broncos were also beat handsomely by The Dragons, but there is no disgrace in that. Cronulla can be backed with a start of 8 points on the handicap, and that looks about fair. Too close to call, no bet advised.
Broncos best odds: 1.36 with Sportsbet
Sharks best odds: 3.25 with Centrebet
Warriors vs Panthers betting odds: Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland. 12pm Sunday.
Penrith cross the water to face The Warriors at The MT Smart Stadium where they have lost the last three encounters. The Warriors will be bouyed by a good victory away in Round 5 and are looking ok this season. The Panthers receive a start of only 2.5pts on the handicap which may not be enough. Take the home side to cover the handicap at 1.90 with Centrebet.
Warriors best odds: 1.75 with Sportsbet
Panthers best odds: 2.20 with Centrebet
Storm vs Sea Eagles betting odds: Etihad Stadium, Melbourne. 07:00pm Monday.
The mighty Storm came unstuck last week when chucking an early lead away to the in-form Titans. The Sea Eagles trounced the lowly Sharks in Round 5, but this is much, much tougher and will be a strong test of their 2010 Championship credentials. Melbourne are a short price, but should be too strong in this mouth watering Monday night clash. Make Melbourne your banker for this week's multis.
Storm best odds: 1.45 with Sportsbet
Sea Eagles best odds: 2.80 with Centrebet
