Avram Grant has become the new manager at Portsmouth, replacing theformer boss Paul Hart, who was dismissed only a few days ago.
Manchester United are just coming off a less than pleasing showing
against Besiktas form earlier in the week, and are probably itching to
get stuck in and show an opponent what they can do.
Manchester United, in their last Premiership match, scored a pleasing
3-0 against Everton, while Portsmouth lost to Stoke City.
Both sides will be itching to gain some ground and consolidate at these
crucial stages of the league.
However, Portsmouth are without David James, who suffered a calf injury,
one that was brought on during the warm up against Stoke.
Whatever injury problems Manchester United have, they have the pleasing
prospect of Wayne Rooney returning to the side after a gap of four matches
