Neymar is priced up as second favourite, at odds of $13.00 to finish the 2014 World Cup as the top goalscorer. After securing a big money (for his parents) move to Barcelona from Santos, Neymar hasn't exactly set La Liga on fire, and his lack of blistering is one of the reasons Barcelona only managed to finish second in La Liga and make the semi finals of the Champions League. However, considering Neymar spent much of his time pushed out wide, and also nursing various injuries as harder training took its toll, his return of 9 goals in 26 games for Barca is actually pretty good.
Neymar's record for Brazil however is much better, and he has scored 30 goals in 47 appearances for the Seleção, including a hatrick last month in a warm up game against South Africa. With Brazil expected by mahy to win the tournament Neymar is bound to get plenty of game time, and his new fitter physique should be able to handle the quick fire succession of games. Backing Neymar at odds of $13.00 looks like a sensible bet to us.
