UFC-MMA Thursday 10th November 2013: The odds and our tips
Belfort v Henderson head to head odds
Fighter | Odds | |
---|---|---|
Belfort | $1.42 | |
Henderson | $2.90 |
Dan Henderson’s fight against Vitor Belfort is his last contracted bout, so it could be the end of a long and illustrious career in the UFC – and it must be worth watching for that alone. But there will be two fighters on show on the 10th who have some of the best and fastest hands in the whole UFC, and whilst it’ll be a great fight to watch, it could all be over very quickly for one of these guys.
Henderson’s career has been long and full of successes, including a fairly comfortable points victory over Belfort, but there is a feeling that he’s reaching the end of his time in the Octagon, especially after a couple of lacklustre points defeats in his last two fights. It’s worth remembering, though, that he has a serious collection of knockout victories in his 39 professional fights. Of course, he’s a fighter with no shortage of experience, and he has proved time and again that he has power to spare in his hands. But you could easily say the same of Belfort: the two fighters’ stats combine for a massive 29 wins by knockout, and 33 first-round stoppages. Belfort is the bookies’ favourite to win this one at $1.42, and he’ll feel that he’s under pressure to do so if he wants to take his own career to the next step.
The odds above, which have Henderson at $2.90 to repeat his win over Belfort, are probably most reflective of the way these two fighters are heading, or have been in the past couple of years. Henderson hasn’t finished a fight before the final bell since back in 2011, whereas no fight Belfort has been involved in since 2007 has needed the final bell. Looking at the markets, we’re tempted by Belfort to win it by KO at $2.06, and also by the longer odds of Henderson finding a KO win at $4.45. Where are you betting?
