We never got a good look at the apparently very gruesome toe injury that put Anthony Perosh out of action for a long while back in November last year, but now it seems like he’s on the comeback trail, and serious about taking on Vinny Magalhaes at UFC 163 on August 4th. In his own words, it’s ‘win or cut’ time for Magalhaes, so he won’t mind the odds above, that have Perosh sitting at $4.00, where Magalhaes is getting a short-looking $1.22. He might be talking it up to add a bit of drama, of course, as we know that it isn’t necessarily the result that decides a fighter’s long-term UFC fate, but the manner in which he goes about his business.

And how will this one go? Both Perosh and Magalhaes have black belts in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, so both are very comfortable on the ground, looking for the submission that will bring them that all-important win. It seems likely that the early exchanges will just be preliminary to the take-down, where both fighters will look to do their best work. If Magalhaes can forget about what comes after the fight and focus on the job in hand, he’s the favourite for a reason, but Perosh asked for this fight, and he’s going into it to win it.
