UFC-MMA Saturday October 19th 2013: The odds and our tips
Dos Santos v Velasquez head to head odds
Fighter | Odds | |
---|---|---|
Velasquez | $2.76 | |
Dos Santos | $1.41 |
Make no mistake, Cain Velasquez is a serious challenge for Junior Dos Santos, and there will be little doubt in the mind of Dos Santos that he’ll be in a real fight come October 19th and UFC 166. But if Dos Santos proved anything in their second meeting, it was that he is a hard man to put down, and he could take everything that Velasquez could throw at him. And if he proved anything when they met the first time, it’s that he has the firepower to knock anyone out, Cain Velasquez included.
It’s going to be an incredible fight whichever way it goes, and Dos Santos will have been working hard on a gameplan that will put him on an even footing with the champ if it goes down to points again. Of course, it would suit Dos Santos very nicely indeed if he could pull off another knockout to stop the fight, and to stop all of us wondering who’s really the better of the two fighters. We’ll definitely be watching on the 19th, and we’ve been keeping an eye on the build-up. One thing we’ve learned is that Junior Dos Santos is in no doubt at all which way it will go – we love this quote from him: ‘I don’t think he’s number one. He’s good, but I think I am number one. When I hit people, they go down.’ Cain Velasquez remains the only man to beat Dos Santos in the UFC, and Dos Santos is the only man to beat Velasquez. One of them will come out on top at UFC 166, and they’re so well matched that maybe Dos Santos is worth a bet now at $2.76. We’ll be keeping an eye out for some tempting odds and markets, too, on Sportsbet between now and October 19th...
